Death from Below is a hit. 94% of DFB owners love it, reporting it’s the perfect companion to their Soundboks 3, 4 or Go (amongst others). To them we say THANK YOU! Thank you also for reading the owner’s manual and figuring out how to set volume ;)

No offence to you 94%, but we’ve been even more interested in the 6% of you that didn’t like it. We spent a lot of time digging into your feedback and figuring out exactly why you weren’t happy.

About 1% of you were disappointed that DFB didn't have wired inputs
and/or wired outputs. It still doesn’t. Sorry. DFB is a SKAA subwoofer, as
advertised, and that’s no different in Mk2.

The remaining 5% of you were dissatisfied with the way DFB’s volume works, or in it’s max SPL (loudness), or when distortion starts, or in a combination of these things. These criticisms hit home with us. In these, we knew DFB Mk2 had to be way better.

We started by making the volume work more intuitively. Now you can crank the volume to the top and still have clean bass.We didn’t use brute force. We didn’t just throw watts at it. That means we also didn’t compromise battery life or weight. None of the refinements involved adding dynamics compression in the DSP. But we did carefully sculpt the EQ presets to make Mk2 sound even sweeter. Exactly zero people complained DFB didn’t have enough bells & whistles, so we didn’t add any.

In total we made 50 refinements. Some were foundational, such as the enhancements we made to the ports and acoustic chamber. Others were little things, like making the power button white so you can easily find it in a dark room. The lion’s share of the refinements add up to an extra 6 dB SPL of clean bass. Mk2 is way louder, and it’s also way clearer.
