Dillinger Labs

The audio industry is in a rut.  It's loaded with uninspired high-tech products and high-quality old-school products.  Where are the inspired, high-quality, high-tech products?  Why should users of wireless headphones necessarily have to be saddled with lacklustre Bluetooth wireless?  Why doesn't your whole-home audio distribution system also support headphones?  Why can't you use your home theatre surround speakers for other stuff throughout the week?  You know what we're talking about.  It's that feeling you got when you came home from Best Buy having bought "the best WiFi speakers money can buy" only to find out you couldn't use them to watch Netflix on your iPad in bed.  Or to play a game.

Easy to use yet Incredibly Flexible

What do people want from their audio gear other than great sound? Mostly it’s two things. It has to be super easy to use and it has to be mega flexible. If I can use it in twelve wildly different ways this week and get 25 hours of use out of it, I’ll absolutely love it to death.

Flexibility to Share Audio Anywhere

No Pairing!

There’s no pairing. Yup. Fasten your seat belts — it's a brave new paradigm we like to call “ridiculously easy”. Plain and simple: we got rid of pairing because it's awkward and people don’t like it. With SKAA, “bonding”—choosing which transmitter to listen to—is done entirely from the receiver side. Yes, you have full control of SKAA from one side! Your work has just been cut in half. Don’t mention it — it’s what we do.

WiFi FREE

One of the main reasons SKAA is so flexible is that it’s 100% WiFi free. While fantastic for connecting your device to the Internet, WiFi is a awkward, and cumbersome in audio land. We don’t like WiFi for audio because it puts massive limits on who can use the speakers, what they can be used for, and where they can be used. And WiFi doesn’t support headphones!

Low Power Consumption

Some of SKAA’s flexibility comes from its long range and low power consumption. Some comes from its multipoint capability. Some comes from its low latency and some comes from its ridiculously-easy bonding.

A huge part of SKAA’s flexibility comes from the fact that SKAA cells are meant to be combined together to effortlessly form vast, flexible audio networks. Want to run 5 SKAA cells in your house at the same time? No problemo.

It Just Works

Who knows how to use a car radio? Nearly everybody. That’s why we made SKAA’s bonding work like the radio in your car. A car radio lets you explore the band for new stations. It lets you add and delete favourite stations. It lets you easily switch between your favourites. All of that control—total control—is done solely from the receiver side. SKAA works in exactly the same way. That’s why it’s simple and intuitive for pretty much everyone on the planet.
